30 Dec 2011

It’s been quite a year of transformation. I am glad to say though, that through it all I am happier, healthier in mind and body, and looking forward to what 2012 has to offer up. Maybe a little personal, but these are the things that I will take from this year and continue building myself with…

-Being underground royalty in the little world created by some of the most open minded, creative, daring and scary individuals in central florida.

-Escaped a bad relationship after realizing I didn’t feel like remembering the code for the money box so that I could bail them out of jail when things went wrong. Stress, stress and more drama and stress.

-Many fun nights at Tanqs and Odin’s Den with the girls, the goddesses i wish they knew they were.

-Hangout Fest in Alabama.. Got to see Avett Brothers and Paul Simon <3

-Hunger Games, Bossy Pants, Twilight, Seriously, I’m Kidding… Midnight in Paris. <3

-I quit smoking. Not as hard as I thought it would be, I may be 10 pounds heavier but at least I can taste my food.

-Running into who is now the most important person in my life in the 3B lobby at Full Sail. Our first date at Chili’s (even though I didn’t know it was a date)

-Got promoted from receptionist (aka parent and student verbal punching bag) to Enrollment Specialist, where I don’t have to deal with students except on their orientation week when they are so excited to see me (what I stand for a least)!

-I sold my beloved Tucker, my Ranger that i’ve had since I got my license, and adopted a feisty little Versa who I have appropriately name Veyonce.

-I have to add this: becoming entirely too dependant on technology. I knew this day would come. I have an iphone, a kindle, 3D TV, netflix, (not entirely mine but) a lap top and desk top. I remember the day when I had a phone that didn’t even text or take pictures (two years ago) and a laptop that worked… sometimes. I am completely aware that I am completely undeserving of the privileges I have been, dare I say, blessed with. I use every single gadget that I have been presented with almost every day and plan to enjoy them and find new creative ways to use them.

-Trip to Colorado to see Zach and Emily. Scott and I make an excellent traveling team :)

-I moved out of my apt to move in with Scott, my charming, intelligent, energetic, gorgeous boyfriend.

-I finally Developed a routine, wake up before 10am, going to be before midnight… mostly anyway.

My life has changed almost completely within the last year, the only thing i didn’t do was … oh wait I did change my hair. I’ve gotten quite good at embracing change, seeing it as not an end but of an opportunity and all that jazz. I hope that things continue to evolve and that the deep fryer that Scott bought today comes with a personal trainer.

Happy New Year!
